It is coming whether we are ready or not. Holidays can be stressful and challenging. As women, we so often take on the burden of home, office, and family and by the time we are ready to have some fun, the joy of it is gone.

Let’s not do that anymore, ok?

Here are 5 things we can all do to get through this holiday season and welcome 2019 with a healthy and fresh mindset.

Relax– This is a special time of year to remember the things we are thankful for. Don’t worry about the holiday dinner or gifts. Friends and family are simply happy to spend time with you over a pizza, coffee, or a holiday dinner.

Think and….

Learn– Learn from the years of stress we have put on ourselves when at the end, you are sitting with the people in your life that matter, and no one cares that you didn’t spend a fortune or struggle in the kitchen over a rack of lamb.

Now you can…

Plan– Look ahead to 2019 and remember what you learned from the holiday season of 2018. You are ready for the new year and any holiday season that comes along.

And perhaps you can…

Give– I usually spend some time in the beginning of each year looking at the charities that are important to me and see how I can give my time, and resources to support these groups. The YWCA of the Greater Capital Region is the 2018 Adopted Nonprofit of the Women’s Business Council. It has been a personally rewarding experience learning about the YWCA and the unbelievable, tireless efforts they make each day to enrich women’s lives.

Please spread…

Love. That’s all. Plain and simple. Be mindful and be kind. Happy holidays and best in 2019!
