The Women’s Business Council is now accepting applications for its 2019 and 2020 Adopted Nonprofits. Since its inception in 2002, the Women’s Business Council’s Adopted Nonprofit Program has raised more than $62,000 for local nonprofits and has helped raise awareness about many worthy organizations in our region.
I first became involved with the Capital Region Chamber and the WBC in 2017 when Whitney Young Health was named that year’s Adopted Nonprofit. With the support from the WBC, Whitney Young Health raised over $10,000! Not only was it a successful fundraising effort, but it also brought awareness to our organization and our mission, which lead to lifelong relationships with a new group of supporters.
Other previous Adopted Nonprofits include: the YWCA of the Greater Capital Region, Capital Roots, St. Paul’s Center, The Bus Stop Club, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation- Northeastern New York Chapter.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday, October 31st. The winners are announced at the Adopted Nonprofit Holiday Fundraiser on Tuesday, December 11th at the Century House in Latham. This is your only chance to be considered for both 2019 and 2020. For more information and where to formally apply, click here.
